You don’t have to be a landscaper or biologist to volunteer here, just a strong sense of curiosity, self-motivation and at least one month to spare.
For 5 hours of work, 5 days a week you’ll receive basic supplies; rice, beans, pasta, lentils, oats, flour, sugar, salt and oil. You can also get your hands on stuff growing around the farm; bananas, plantains, passionfruit, coconuts, water apples, some herbs and more. You have to provide other food (closest supermarket in the town is 3km distance)
You’ll be staying on the farm alongside other volunteers and workers in a large yurt and an annex. They are both divided into separate rooms, with a couple of double-bed private rooms and a shared dorm with two singles. Both have flushing toilets, outside bathroom and equipped kitchens that are rudimentary accomodations.
What to bring with you
• Light rain poncho
• Light shoes that can get muddy
• Reef sandals if you want to enter water wherever is rocky
• Non aerosol mosquito spray
• Citronella based repellent for sandflies
• Sunscreen
• Small first aid kit
• Traveling mosquito net double size
• Copy of your passport
